Defenders of the Rim: Borjon, Book 3 of the Far Future Series is nearly here!!!

Life never seems to get easier for heroes.

Our favorite Crown Princess Jarra and her Rim Patrol team must travel to the planet Borjon to meet their alien allies. What looks like a straightforward and simple diplomatic mission turns out to be much more.

They learn they must go on a critical but dangerous journey into enemy space. What they discover on this mission could change the future for the entire galaxy, but it could possibly be their most dangerous mission yet. Will our young friends find a way to survive and change the very nature of the war they are fighting? Whatever they do, it may well come at a great cost.

I just had to show off the cover to the my new book. I’m really excited about how it turned out. When I wrote about the area of space called the Badlands that is central to this book, I pictured total chaos, with crazy energy streams and twisted space with rogue moons and debris scattered within. The cover captured that feeling completely, almost like we were there looking at it, somewhere in that far future.

Carrying on where we left off with Book 1 in the Far Future series, our young heroes are out to save the galaxy again. You can only imagine the difficulties the area of space called the Badlands is going to present to our young heroes. Each must grow in their abilities and in their strength of character. That’s before we throw in the rebels, the aliens, and the pirates they’ll have to battle once again if they are to survive.

Just to make it more interesting, there’s more than one group of aliens interested in the outcome. They’re followers of the Prophecies left by the Forerunners. Prophecies in particular about the One, the human with the yellow hair, and her growing group of friends and team members. The fate of all life in the galaxy may well depend on them.

I’m quite excited. Origins is in the final countdown. It should go live on Amazon this week. I’ll be sure to put up a later post with a link to purchase the book.

Origins is in some ways a prequel to the Near Future Series.  It is my attempt to go back and give a little history.  But I wanted to make it much more than that.

Origins also lays more of the foundation for the next book in the Near Future Series, Alternate, the book that examines the alternate future we first learned about in Book 3, Ascendancy.

But that’s still not all.  Origins hints at the connection between the Near Future Series, which you’re reading now, and the Far Future Series, my new series that looks much farther into the future. Defenders of the Rim: Beginnings is the first book in that series and that book is available now. Later, I’ll be doing more to tie the two series together, but you’re going to have to be patient before you can discover all of it.

It is my hope that the mystery will only make it more fun.

Welcome to the Future.  Over the last couple of years, I have enjoyed bringing to my readers a possible view of the future. First in the Near Future Sci-Fi Series and now in the Far Future Sci-Fi Series.

Summer Beach Read.  Those of you who are in the US headed to the beach for that final summer trip (I guess for you Aussie’s, maybe the first beach trip for the summer?), as pointed out to me by one reader, my books make a great read while at the beach. Sure you have the bad guys and difficulties to overcome, but the books always try to keep a positive attitude. That’s perfect for reading on the beach.

Now a plug for the Far Future series.  Book 1 is live on Amazon and it’s doing ok, but it could do better.  I’m hoping some of my readers just haven’t had a chance to give it a look and will do so soon.

This book is a product of last year’s NaNoWriMo (National November Write Month).  It’s a little different from the Near Future Series, with Galactic Empires, rebels and aliens, but it was a lot of fun to write and I think it will be fun to read.

Defenders of the Rim: Beginnings will introduce new characters and new problems to solve. It is a new series and it was a lot of fun writing it.  The new series takes place in the far future, so it’s a little different but I think you’ll enjoy it.  Remember those rebels, aliens, galactic empires? The Galactic Empire’s the good guys, just to give it a new twist!

Don’t forget the Near Future. It’s what got us all started, and don’t worry, we have a lot more to come.

Origins: A Near Future Sci-Fi Short – Keep an eye out for the forthcoming book in the Near Future series. It should be out mid-September. It will lay the beginning groundwork to tie the two series together, although I’m not giving you all of it yet! That’s going to be part of the fun!!

It’s part of a new series that I’ve been having a lot of fun writing.  The new series takes place in the far future, so it’s a little different but I think you’ll enjoy it.  I have a long term plan to tie it back to the Near Future Series, but that’s coming later.

It won’t be without hardship and they’ll have to come up with new technologies if they are to survive the conflict.

If Books 1 and 2 are not fresh on your mind, you may want to re-read them to get yourself primed for Book 3!
